PILGRIM PARTNERS:
BUiLDING LEADERS FOR THE FUTURE CHURCH
Pilgrim Partners is a UKirk Student Leadership program that is supported by the Lilly Foundation's Campus Ministry Vocational Discernment Initiative. Every year for the next four years, eight to ten UKirk students will be selected to participate in the Pilgrim Partner's program. These students will be paired with one of our local sponsor congregations, where he or she will then be asked to plan, implement and lead a "ministry project" in partnership with that congregation. Students will also commit to study and pray together in both Leadership and Spirituality throughout the semester, including a capstone pilgrimage in May.
What is a ministry project?
What is a ministry project? Think Eagle Scout projects or senior projects, but for your faith rather than for boy scouts or school. Some examples of ministry projects may include, teaching a Sunday School series on a topic the student is particularly passionate about, starting a community garden, giving a musical or dramatic performance, or organizing a mission and service event.
